Sylvia Lam is the Executive Director of the Burlingame Aquatic Club (BAC). BAC provides aquatics programs on behalf of the City of Burlingame Parks and Recreation Department. The City and BAC work in partnership with the San Mateo Union High School District which owns the Burlingame Aquatic Center. Prior to working for BAC, Sylvia Lam was the Aquatics Director of the Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center which is located on the Levy Family Campus (owned by the Jewish Federation of Silicon Valley). Sylvia worked in the Aquatics Department at this facility as both an employee of Club One (private corporation) and the JCC (non-profit). Sylvia has worked in the Aquatics Industry for over 15 years. During this time she has shared her love of Aquatics by training over 1000 lifeguards, teaching hundreds of children and adults how to swim, and has worked with her staff to help them develop as Aquatics Professionals. Her strengths include strategic planning, fiscal management, community outreach, program and staff development.
