In 2014, with the launch of the Global Report on Drowning, the World Health Organization identified ten actions to prevent drowning. One action was a call for the development of national water safety plans. This presentation will explore national water safety plans, including what they are, what they aim to do, and the proposed steps to their development. It will also highlight the types of objectives and actions relevant to the aquatics field from existing national plans.
