Public Health
Friday, October 20, 2017 -
10:00am to 10:50am

This seminar will provide an overview of the 7th International Swimming Pools & Spa conference that was held May 2-5, 2017 on the island of Kos, Greece. This island was the home of the Asclepieion of Kos, a medical center built in the 3 rd century BC that included spas and baths as part of the healing regimen for patients. This history provided the backdrop to an informative and engaging program that focused on microbial and chemical quality in pools and spas, risk assessment for pools and spas, disinfection techniques and issues, hydrotherapy pools, pool and spa management issues, and regulations for pools and spas from European and US perspectives.
